The Society of International sustaining growth for Antimicrobial Articles (SIAA) is an organization of manufacturers and antimicrobial testing institutions of antimicrobial agents, fungicides, and treated Kohkin/Boukabi products whose goal is the popularization of appropriately treated and secure Kohkin/Boukabi products. With the opinions of industry and customer representatives, specialists, and the government, SIAA maintains rules governing the quality and safety of treated Kohkin products and certifies the labeling and use of SIAA marks, symbols for the security of products that comply with the rules and standards.

Aiming for popularization of excellent treated Kohkin products and treated Boukabi products,
the following criteria and rules have been established.

◎	Voluntary criteria on quality and safety
◎	Rules for voluntary registration of data on quality and safety
◎	Rules for labeling and terms for treated Kohkin products and antimicrobial agents
◎	Rules for operation of "SIAA marks"
◎	Rules for person responsible for Kohkin management on treated Kohkin products and antimicrobial agents
◎	Rules for antimicrobial test manager
◎	Rules for operation of the positive list of fungicides

Activities of SIAA

With a view to achieving clarity and fair promotion of the industry and to increase the awareness of customers and related industries, the following activities have been developed.

◎	Operation of the Society by establishing the Expert Committee for Improvement in Kohkin Products consisting of customer organizations, knowledgeable persons, and government
◎	Market research on treated Kohkin products
◎	Promotion of communication with industry organizations
◎	Holding of lectures, meetings, seminars, and social gatherings
◎	Liaison with the International Biodeterioration Research Group (IBRG)
◎	Dispatch of various types of information via websites
